Description
This Certikin main drain HD33 for concrete pools comes in 3 colours. Featuring Certikin’s unique anti-vortex grille design, this swimming pool main drain is available for concrete or liner pools. The Certikin main drain HD33 offers the ideal solution for corrosion-free flow fittings that last with salt chlorinators.
The HD33 drain is used to draw the base water for filtering. This is also used as the principal method of emptying the pool. Both concrete and liner types come complete with self-tapping fixings screws for added safety. Manufactured in white ABS.
The choice of pool fittings can make or break the overall impression of a pool. To add that perfect finishing touch and extend the options available, this range doesn’t just come in white ABS, it comes in an attractive metallic grey or black plastic that will blend beautifully with darker pool finishes.
This model is for concrete pools if you’re looking for a liner pool option please see the HD33L main drain for liner pools.
Features:
- High flow, low velocity grille supplied as standard
Provides up to 50% more free-flow area than other models - Anti-vortex design
- Protective film prevents damage during installation
- For use on concrete pools
Options:
Each HD33 main drain colour option comes with the option to add the plug, brush and nipple to make the drain complete. This is recommended unless buying a replacement drain element.
You’ll also have the option to add a hydro relief valve to the complete unit. This hydrostatic relief valve helps to avoid possible damage to an empty pool if the water table rises above the level of the floor.
Main Drain Selection:
When choosing sump (main drain) size always assume that total flow may be directed to the plant room via the sump(s) – sump size should be chosen accordingly. In normal conditions flow will be divided between surface draw-off and sump(s) in ratio: 70% Surface/30% sump for skimmer-type pools or 50% Surface/50% sump for deck-level pools.
On commercial or shallow pool applications stainless steel main drain grilles must be used. Main drains must be arranged so that there is no risk of bathers being drawn towards them or trapped there. It is recommended that on all installations, including domestic, a minimum of 2 x main drains are installed 2 metres apart.
