The Best Pool Dosing System for Your Pool

If you are tired of testing the water, guessing the dose, and still getting it wrong. A pool dosing system does that job for you, every day, without you lifting a lid. Here is what one actually does, and which pool dosing system suits best for your pool.
We fit and servicde these systems for over a decade, so we know exactly which are the best for your pool and budget.
What a pool dosing system actually does
It measures your water constantly and adds the right amount of chemical automatically. Two things get watched. First, how acidic the water is, which decides whether it stings your eyes and eats your equipment. Second, how much working sanitiser is in there, which decides whether the water is safe.
When either drifts, the system adds a small, precise dose. So instead of one big correction a week, your water gets tiny nudges all day and never swings.
Which Bayrol system suits your pool
| Your pool | The system | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Normal chlorine pool, up to 90m³ | Bayrol Automatic Cl-pH | £1,399 to £1,785 |
| Salt water pool | Bayrol Automatic Salt | £2,725 to £3,169 |
| Big pool, or you want the heating and lights run too | Bayrol PoolManager | £4,446 to £4,719 |
Prices correct at the time of writing. All three are made in Germany and carry a three year warranty.
Bayrol Automatic Cl-pH, from £1,399

Best for most home pools. If you use liquid chlorine and your pool holds up to 90,000 litres, this is the one. The Automatic Cl-pH watches acidity and sanitiser levels, then two quiet pumps add tiny doses as needed. WiFi comes built in, so you can check the water from your phone while you are out.
Who should skip it: salt pool owners, plus anyone using bromine or active oxygen.
Bayrol Automatic Salt, from £2,725

Best for salt water pools. A salt pool makes its own chlorine from salt dissolved in the water, and the Automatic Salt controls that process while managing acidity too. It runs on as little as 1.5 grams of salt per litre. Two sizes exist, so the smaller suits pools to around 80,000 litres while the larger stretches to 140,000.
Who should skip it: anyone without a salt pool, since the whole system is built around salt.
Bayrol PoolManager, from £4,446
Best for people who own medium to large sized pools and are looking for a hands free dosing solution. The PoolManager doses the water, then runs the rest of the pool too. Six outputs control your heating, filter pump, lights and cover. It stores a year of readings, emails you if something is wrong, and quietens the pump at night to save energy. You have a range of pool dosing options from Bromine dosing, chlorine and oxygen dosing systems.
Who should skip it: This is not a cheap initial costing dosing system, however in the long run can save you a lot of time and money, maximising your enjoyment of a pool.

What you get back
Time first. No daily testing, no weekly chemical run, no wondering whether the water is safe before guests arrive.
Then money, in three quiet ways. Precise dosing wastes fewer chemicals on overcorrection. Stable water protects your liner, heater and pipework, because water that swings acidic slowly damages the lot. And balanced water rarely goes green, so you avoid the shock treatments and drain-downs that follow an algae bloom.
One honest limit. A dosing system keeps balanced water balanced. It will not rescue a failed filter or replace a proper clean.
FAQ
What is a pool dosing system? A unit that measures your water continuously and adds the right amount of chemical automatically, so it stays balanced without you testing by hand.
Which is the best pool dosing system? For a normal chlorine pool up to 90m³, the Bayrol Automatic Cl-pH. For a salt pool, the Bayrol Automatic Salt. For a large pool, or one where you want the heating and lights controlled too, the Bayrol PoolManager.
Does a dosing system save money? Over time, yes. It cuts wasted chemicals, protects your equipment from swinging water, and helps you avoid the cost of clearing an algae bloom.
Do I need one fitted professionally? The PoolManager must be. We offer installation on the other two, which is worth taking, because the sensors need calibrating to work.
