Description

The GeoBubble Midas 500 solar cover makes for a great well-insulated summer pool cover. This 500-micron cover works to stop water evaporation from the pool and provides heat through solar gains through its patented GeoBubble material. Whilst keeping the pools heat in the Midas 500 will also keep debris and containments out. This cover is one of the most well-insulated summer pool covers available. Covering the pool prevents dirt, leaves, insects and more from entering the clean water, keeping a pleasant swimming environment and reducing chemical demand.

Heat is retained by the gold underside reflecting captive heat back into the pool. The Midas also allows a certain amount of sunlight into the pool water ensuring solar gain. These features lower heating costs when compared with a standard bubble cover.

Evaporation Prevention:

The GeoBubble Midas 500 solar pool cover material reduces water losses and chemical losses through evaporation by working as a barrier. Evaporation is responsible for 70% of the heat loss from a pool due to the evaporation process’s high energy requirement. To heat one gram of water 1°C it requires 1 calorie of energy as the same gram changes phase and evaporates 540 calories are consumed resulting in heat loss in the swimming pool. By simply covering the pool with the material evaporation is reduced by over 98% resulting in lower water consumption and lower heating bills.
